About Us
Extraordinary Experiences, Deep Cultural Connection
At Tropic Tours, we’re driven by one core belief: travel should connect you, not just to new places, but to people, cultures, and the natural world.
Founded in April 2023 by Cairns locals Renae and Simon Vicic, Tropic Tours was born from a love of Tropical North Queensland and a desire to share it in a more meaningful way. We saw a gap in the tourism space: a need for small-group, culturally immersive tours that honour the land, deepen understanding, and leave a lasting impact.
We created Tropic Tours to go beyond sightseeing. We wanted to offer guests something deeper; a chance to slow down, feel a real connection to Country, and walk away changed for the better. Whether you’re exploring waterfalls, listening to Indigenous stories, or simply absorbing the stillness of the rainforest, we aim to make every moment personal, profound, and unforgettable.
What we offer

Our signature tour: Coast Waterfall Culture Tour
Tropic Tours showcases the southern cultural wonders of Josephine Falls and Babinda Boulders within the World Heritage Wet Tropics Rainforest. In exclusive partnership with Goonodi Culture Tours, Traditional Custodians of the Dyirribarra Bagirrbarra people, you’ll be welcomed onto Country where the Cassowary—totem of their people—symbolises deep spiritual connection to land, water, community, and environment.
Experience Dreamtime stories, weaving, spear throwing, language, dance, bush knowledge, and family stories in a genuine cultural journey that fosters respect, understanding, and a lasting connection to Country.

Why we do this
We love nothing more than watching people’s eyes light up when they learn something new about this land, its ancient stories, its ecosystems, and the people who have protected it for thousands of years.
One of our proudest moments was hearing a guest say their tour with us changed the way they see the world, making them more mindful of conservation and cultural respect. That kind of feedback reminds us why we do this.
Our tours aren’t about ticking boxes, they’re about sparking real transformation.
Our values
