Tropic Tours is a locally owned small-group Australian tour company based in Cairns, offering immersive day tours across Tropical North Queensland. We specialise in rainforest, wildlife and cultural experiences designed for travellers seeking authentic, low-impact adventures guided by passionate locals.Â
Tropic Tours is proudly owned and operated by Simon and Renae, operating a small team who live and work in Tropical North Queensland. As hands-on owner-operators, they are involved in every aspect of the business from designing itineraries and guiding tours to building relationships with local suppliers and communities.
Simon leads many of the tours, bringing a wealth of local knowledge, environmental insight and storytelling that transforms each day into an engaging and memorable experience. Renae ensures every detail behind the scenes reflects their commitment to quality, sustainability and personalised service.
Being owner-operated means they take genuine care in every experience they deliver, with attention to detail, thoughtful guiding and a commitment to making each tour feel personal and unhurried.

Small-Group Touring, Done Differently
The tours are intentionally limited to small groups to ensure a relaxed pace, personalised guiding, and minimal impact on the environments they visit. This approach allows guides to adapt each day to conditions, wildlife sightings, and guest interests. Whether that’s spending more time swimming beneath a waterfall, spotting cassowaries in the wild, or learning the stories behind the landscapes.
Tours operate across some of the most iconic and lesser-known regions of Far North Queensland, including the Daintree Rainforest, Mossman Gorge, Atherton Tablelands and the Cassowary Coast.

Tropic Tours showcases the southern cultural wonders of Josephine Falls and Babinda Boulders within the World Heritage Wet Tropics Rainforest. In exclusive partnership with Goonodi Culture Tours, Traditional Custodians of the Dyirribarra Bagirrbarra people, you’ll be welcomed onto Country where the Cassowary—totem of their people—symbolises deep spiritual connection to land, water, community, and environment.
